Ingredients for Apple Donuts and Caramel Sauce

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 60 grams butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup cream

Recipe

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. In a bowl, mix diced apples with sugar and cinnamon.
  2. In another bowl, combine lemon juice, egg, honey, oil, and yogurt. Gradually add this mixture to the dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, baking powder, a pinch of salt) and mix well.
  3. Grease donut molds or a cake pan. Spread the seasoned apples in the mold, then pour the donut batter over them.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes until golden. Once baked, remove the donuts from the mold and let them cool.

Caramel Sauce

  1. In a pan, combine brown sugar, butter, and cream over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Continue stirring until the caramel sauce thickens (about 15 minutes). Adjust the heat to ensure it doesn’t get too high. Optionally, add a few drops of vanilla essence.
  3. Once the caramel sauce is ready, remove it from the heat and dip the donuts into the sauce.
  4. Serve the apple donuts and caramel sauce, and optionally, sprinkle chopped walnuts, sesame, or truffles on top. Enjoy with tea or your favorite hot drink.

Note: The natural sweetness from apples and caramel eliminates the need for extra sugar. If skipping the caramel sauce, you can dust the donuts with powdered sugar after removing them from the mold.
